The Dragonflyers Breast Cancer Paddler Dragon Boat Team, established in 2014, is a group of 30 extraordinary women, ranging in age from 35 to 70+ years, who practice in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The team started when a group of passionate student paddlers from the University of Waterloo put out a call for Breast Cancer Survivors who might be interested in joining a “learn to paddle dragon boat” program. What was only supposed to be a six-week program has become a 12-year legacy of racing, supporting each other, and cheering one another on both in the boat and from afar.
